Sylvan Ebanks-Blake joined Wolves in December 2007 from Plymouth initially on loan until the transfer window opened when the move was made permanent for around £2million. Sylvan won the Golden Boot as league top scorer that season with 24 goals, including the undoubted goal of the season at Charlton, for which, in March 2009 he won the Football League Goal of the Year, as well as picking up the Player of the Year award. Terry Connor - picking up SEB’s award because he was recovering from a hamstring injury which forced him to return to Compton from the England U21 squad - said he “backed Sylvan Ebanks-Blake to become a top Barclays Premier League striker after he was named FourFourTwo Coca-Cola Championship player of the year at the Football League Awards. The 22-year-old has been a revelation at Molineux since moving to the club from Plymouth in January last year and won the Championship Golden Boot after scoring 23 goals. Ebanks-Blake already has 24 league goals this season and looks set to fire Wolves to the Premier League with Mick McCarthy's side five points clear at the top of the Championship. "I truly believe he can play in the Premier League and I hope we're successful and he can prove that next season," said Connor. "In 18 months he's been so consistent scoring goals and he's taken his all-round game to a higher level." (Press Association).
